Corpus Christi processions are still a vivid tradition in Poland. However, while in some places it’s mainly a religious celebration, there are regions where it’s in fact a folk holiday. One of these places is the area of Łowicz, famous for their beautiful folk costumes. For locals Corpus Christi is one of the few occasions to show their colorful dresses and trousers. You won’t find these flamboyant costumes in any other part of Poland. Therefore, it’s no wonder that this holiday attracts to Łowicz tourists from around the country and from abroad. And locals are very proud of this beautiful traditions, I hope you can see this pride in my pictures taken in a small village near Łowicz.
